Peer Sharing Meetings of the “Volunteering in Emergencies Project” Held


The in-person peer sharing meetings of the project titled “Volunteering in Emergencies: University Students Teaching Refugee Children” (EVEREST) were held on April 2 and 6, 2026. At the sharing meetings, which were attended by students from Boğaziçi University and other universities, the Project Coordinator, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hakan Ergin, Project Researcher, Master’s Student Saliha Yazar-Savaşer, and Double Major Undergraduate Student Sena Bildik presented the initial findings of the ongoing project. Afterward, university students who volunteer with non-governmental organizations to provide education to refugee children shared their experiences with their peers. Then, the refugee students who benefited from these educational activities shared with the participants how these programs had transformed them. The project is supported by the Boğaziçi University BAP Fund.
