D-STEK Project Workshops

D-STEK: Removing Barriers in Digital and STEM Project, initiated in 2025 under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Program and led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gamze İnan in the Department of Educational Sciences, held its first workshops on February 13. For these workshops the project hosted 11th-grade female students from Arnavutköy Korkmaz Yiğit Anatolian High School and their school counselor, Tülay Karagöz on the campus. The students participated in the workshop titled “Exploring Data Science with Python” led by Dr. Mehmet Fatih Erkoç from Yıldız Technical University and the Data Science Workshop led by Dr. Oğuz Köklü from Boğaziçi University. The undergraduate students taking the ED 472 course and the scholarship student, R.A. Sümeyye Çakır, also paticipated in the workshops and made observations. The workshops, planned to last a total of five weeks, aim to increase the awareness of female students regarding digital and STEM fields and thus support their occupational development.
